I hope ya'll are having a cool yule? I took a brief outing with the camera in Dublin before I left for the holidays and here's an HDR from the results. I think I'll have another go in early Jan before they take down the lights, I think I might be able to get a better shot. |

2 from Amsterdam
I was in Amsterdam at the start of September for 4 days and was lucky to get great weather all the way through. It's a beautiful city but I found it quite difficult to do it justice in photos but here's two I liked. I'm sure I'll try and get back there in the next year or two for another photo outing. Connemara
 Hi everyone, I've taken a bit of a break from processing and posting pictures to redesign focus pocus photo pages and go out taking some photos while the days were long, and take a nice long holiday to Amsterdam and Thailand. I hadn't planned on not posting for quite this long so I better start making up for it. The pic above is from about 45 mins west of home on a rare calm and sunny day when we were on our way to Roundstone. I'm moving from the West to the East next weekend which will give me access to a whole new side of the country and see me trading sunsets for sunrises. Hope all you guys are well, I've been reading lj even if I've not been posting :) |

Chrysler Building
My favourite building from my trip to New York has to be the Chrysler. I recently bought the excellent Photoshop Channels Book and thought this was a good image to experiment with, so there's a bit more post-processing on this one than usual, but I'm happy with the result. Current Mood: busy |

Times Square
So ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) mister_lance called me out recently for not posting in the last while, so here Lance, this one's for you :P The lack of posts has been due to most of my effort in the last few months going into getting a remote backup of my photos and my workflow in general organised, rewriting a lot of the code under the hood for focuspocus. But that's all more or less done now and I'll move back to processing and posting photos and a facelift for focuspocus. Here's a stereotypical Times Square shot from Septembers trip to the states.

Slieve League
Here's one of the final pics taken with my trusty D70. I recently sold it to a friend and upgraded to a D80. I also sold the kit lens (18-70mm) and my 70-300mm and went for the new 18-200mm VR as a replacement for both. I'm losing the extra 100mm at the long end but gaining with the quality, VR and the fact I've one less lens to lug around! I've been neglecting the ol' lj a bit this year, but hopefully the new equipment will lead to more shots that make the grade.

Glenveagh Castle
I visited Glenveagh Castle a couple weekends ago on a trip northwards. It's just a really beautiful place, and the heritage council have done a great job with the visitor centre and tours without intruding on thew surroundings too much.
